Frequently asked questions

Is the Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes free to watch?
In France, France 3 and France TV air the closing hours of every stage live and free. Free options elsewhere vary by country — see the broadcaster grid above for what's available where you are.
What channel is the race on? It used to be the Critérium du Dauphiné.
It was renamed from the Critérium du Dauphiné in 2026, so some guides still list the old name. France Télévisions carries it free in France; Eurosport and HBO Max show every stage across most of Europe; TNT Sports covers the UK and Ireland.
What time does each stage start?
Stages finish in the late afternoon, and live TV coverage usually picks up the final two to three hours. Exact broadcast start times for each stage are shown in the schedule above.
How many stages does it have?
Eight stages over eight days, with no rest day. The route packs summit finishes and time-trial kilometres into the Alps and Massif Central, which is why it's the key Tour de France warm-up.
Can I subscribe to the whole Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes for my preferred channel?
Yes. Choose the channels you watch and subscribe once. Every Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes stage those channels carry lands in your calendar, and it keeps itself right as broadcast times are confirmed, so there is nothing to copy across each morning. Use the subscribe panel on this page.

About the broadcast

The Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes — known as the Critérium du Dauphiné until its 2026 rebrand — is organized by Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO), the same company behind the Tour de France. One host feed serves every broadcaster, so the pictures are the same wherever you watch — France 3 in France, Eurosport across Europe, streaming platforms elsewhere — and only the commentary changes.

Run over eight stages in the week before the Tour de France, it is the race the general-classification contenders use to test their climbing form. Live coverage typically runs the final two to three hours of each stage, through the summit and valley finishes.
